DIRECTOR |
A quick run down of relative experience that I
have with ham radio and clubs is as follows. I have been a licensed
amateur since 2015 and upgraded to extra class within the first six
months. I have maintained a membership in the WPSS for the past
eight years and check in on the nets as often as I can.
I have been active in the Calaveras Amateur Radio Society and Lodi
Amateur Radio club for the past ten years. As an elected officer in
the Lodi Club I’ve served as Vice President for four years,
President for two years, and secretary for the past three years. The
Lodi club went through some big changes during my tenure as
president in becoming a 501C(3) corporation, obtaining proper DOJ
permits to run club raffles, and I became the call sign trustee for
the club’s original call WB6HUM. Presently serving as the Lodi ARC
secretary at this time and involved a a net controller and Elmer. My
experience in being a part of the management of an amateur radio
club of 89 members has given me some valuable skills and experience
to offer as a director for the WPSS.
Please consider me as a qualified candidate for the Director
position and I will serve to the best of my abilities if elected.

I've been a ham since
the mid 60's when I was 9yrs old. I originally joined WPSS in 1970
when Theda and Betty that started the net talked me into joining. I
left HF and the net in 1979, when I married my wife to start our
family. Spent many hours in the mobile driving to/from
Visalia/Travis AFB in Fairfield 1974-1978 while in the Air Force
talking on WPSS to stay awake at night.
Got back into HF briefly in 1981 when our son was born and was net
manager, treasurer, and roll caller for the Mission Trail Net (back
when it was on 3928khz) until later in the 80's when my young kids
got older at which time, I took another long break from HF.
Got the HF bug again early 2019 and I was pleasantly surprised to
see WPSS still going strong and joined right up to get involved
again. Became a Director followed by taking over VP/Net Manager for
Ralph (NA6D) due to his health, later to be voted into that position
for several more years. I'm currently the roll caller and late
monitor Tuesdays.
Earlier this year agreed to take over the President position with
Dave WA6D needing to resign due to health issues. If considered for
President again, I would be honored and happy to continue helping
this great organization of great members continue as it has since
1969.
